Dear Reader,

- Kerstin Petersson
The RIVER ECHO Language School opened its doors in the summer of 1999.
It was during my own travels that I was inspired to open a school here in Wakefield: for several years I and my husband started off our holidays in Central America by spending a week at a Spanish language school in Costa Rica and living with a Costa Rican family.
We were amazed at how much language you can pick up in even just one week. Our host families were wonderful, the school excellent and - above all - FUN. From this experience the idea for RIVER ECHO grew.
Wakefield and the surrounding area quite naturally provide a wonderful environment for an exciting holiday of any type. The school we had to design. We strove to come up with a concept that would satisfy the 'casual' language traveller as well as the 'serious' language student.
I can proudly say that we - our team here at River Echo -have done just that.
Cordially,
Kerstin
